Lesson 01 / Cloud foundations

From a folder
to a website.

A static host delivers prebuilt files to a browser. Those files can still include interactive JavaScript.

How a page reaches you

  1. You open a website address.
  2. The hosting service returns the requested HTML file.
  3. Your browser loads the linked CSS and JavaScript files.
  4. You follow a link to request another page.

Keep the paths connected

This lesson sits inside the topics/hosting folder. Its links use relative paths to find the homepage and shared assets. Preserving these folders during upload keeps navigation working.
